Working with Database Files
Creating a New Database
To create a new database, select the New... menu item and specify the file that will be used for storing all database data including attachments and images.
Saving a Database
This application works with databases directly from the hard drive using buffered input-output. That means that you do not need to save your database using the Save-like commands as it is constantly updated automatically.
Creating Backup Copy of the Database
To save another copy of an existing database, use the Create Backup Copy action in scripts.
You can also specify "hot" backup in the Database Properties window.
Opening an Existing Database
To open an existing database, use the Open... menu item. If the database is password-protected, you will be prompted to enter the database password.
If you want to open a database already opened on another computer, select the Open
Networked Database menu item. To learn more, see the Network
section.
