Database Properties
You can open the database properties window by selecting the File > Optimization or the File > Security And Backup menu item from the main menu:
Optimization
Optimization is most useful for large databases (over 100Mb). During this process the data in the database is re-arranged and de-fragmented, which
provides higher overall database operation speed.
Prior to starting optimization, click the Analyze button to check whether your database will actually benefit from optimization. To optimize the database, click the Optimize button.
Security
To bring up the security window, click the Security and Backup tab.
You can protect your database by setting the password for the database. To do that:
- Check the Password option.
- Enter the password (the password must be longer than 3 characters).
- Re-enter the password.
To remove password protection from the database, clear the Password check box. To change the password, click the Change Password button.

Backup
To bring up the backup window, click the Security and Backup tab.
To create a backup copy of the database before opening the database, select the corresponding check box. To set up periodic backup, select the Create backup copies every xxx minutes option. The backup file is located in the database folder and its name starts with the tilde (~) symbol.
Please note, that the backup copy of the database will be deleted at regular
closing of the application.
You can also use the Create Backup Copy action in Script Designer to create backup copies manually at a specified location.
